Become A Yoga Teacher


You may be surprised to hear this, but no one goes into yoga teacher Training.  I know this for a fact.  I have been a yoga instructor for eight years, you see, and yoga practitioner for close to 30.  I have studied many styles of yoga including ashtanga, Iyengar, and kundalini yoga.  I also studied from many teachers, and took classes in yoga styles all around the world.  I am an expert in yoga, but I never set out to be.

Although people do occasionally make the mistake of going into yoga teacher Training figuring that it will be an easy path to an easy career, the fact is that the ability to teach yoga only comes about as the result of intense study.  I have known many great yoga teachers, and not a single one set out to be one.  What they did do is what all great teachers do, no matter what the field.  They fell in love with the subject matter that they were studying, and proceeded as far as it would take them.  Although this does often involve taking a program and yoga teacher Training, this is only done as a way to advance the study of yoga.  You do not learn yoga as a way to complete a class in yoga teacher Training.  You complete yoga teacher Training as way to learn yoga.

If you have been drawn to yoga teaching as a possible career path, I would like to ask you to reconsider this idea.  Instead, find another way to make money.  Ideally, you should find one that will involve as little time commitment as possible while giving you enough money to live on comfortably.  Then, you should study under a teacher who you know and respect.  If your teacher does offer a course in yoga Training, so much the better.  If the teacher does not, this does not mean that you should go find another teacher.  Study with the teacher until you can learn no more from them, and then find someone else to teach you yoga.  Yoga teacher Training, after all, should only be a step in your quest to master the study of yoga as fully as possible.  You should never leave a good teacher just because they cannot give you the certification that you desire.  It is easy to get yoga teacher Training.  There are many courses that will give you a piece of paper.  But what people want to know is if you have studied with good teachers, and if you understand the yoga yourself.

Organic health food stores have been around for a long time, but the number of organic products has greatly increased in recent years. Organic food products have been around for well over a decade. Slowly but surely, people have been finding out that artificial fertilizers, pesticides, and other additives can have seriously compromising health effects. Nonetheless, other kinds of consumer awareness have been a little bit slow to come. Nowadays, there are organic beauty products, organic health care products, and even organic clothing. It is unfortunate that our world is run in such a way that we have to specify when we don’t want to have harmful additives in the things that we use every day. No matter what you are using, you can probably find an organic product version of it. There is even organic soda nowadays! Nevertheless, just because something is an organic product does not mean it is healthy. Different states have different rules on what constitute organic products.

In some of them, such as California, there are very strict standards on organic food and other types of organic products. To be considered organic, something has to be free of artificial additives, growth hormones, antibiotics, and other impurities. In other states, however, you can say anything is organic if you want to. A lot of the time, organic standards are industry controlled on a voluntary basis. In practice, that means that the consumer has very little protection. Finding non-GMO food products can be very difficult if you don’t live in California.

In reality, the best way to make sure that you are using organic products is to buy locally grown produce. If you can buy food, clothing, crafts, skin care products, and other consumer items that are made in your area, it is quite easy to verify whether or not they are organically prepared. Although these organic products can cost a little bit more, you can feel good about yourself for using them. Not only do you know that you are living a healthier life, but you also will be supporting local industry. It is always nice to be a will to give something back to your community, and by making wise decisions about the food we eat and the clothing we wear, we can do just that.

Our world is basically corrupted with sickness and disease. Yeah, you heard me right. Just take a look around. Pop on the local news and you will surely see something regarding a virus or disease. There’s just no escaping this issue. If you’re human, it’s all around you. Of course every single one of us want to prevent ourselves from getting anything. This is why professionals encourage certain lifestyles and practices. It’s prudent to stay on top of these issues at all times. Now, what about the afflictions you do acquire? Why Cucumbers Help You Stay Beautiful


Cucumbers can be very good for your health and beauty, for various reasons. As they have a high percentage of water content (about 96%), they are excellent for hydrating the body. If you eat them in summer, they give you a cooling effect. The main ingredients of cucumbers include Vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid, fiber, caffeic acid (otherwise known as carbolic acid) and minerals like potassium, magnesium and silica. All these ingredients help to make cucumbers agents for enhancing health and beauty.

Make your face glow

When you want your face to have a glow on it, mix equal quantities of cucumber juice and milk, add a little milk to the mixture and apply it to the face. Allow 20 minutes or so, before washing it off. Take one-half of a peeled cucumber, chop it coarsely, put it in a blender, and blend it to make it smooth. Liberally apply this smooth cucumber paste on the face. After about 15 to 20 minutes, wash your face with water. In this way, your face will be rid of its oily look. If your face looks dull and greasy, you can brighten it by applying a combination of lemon juice, rose water and cucumber juice. To prevent dryness, pimples and blackheads, apply grated cucumber to your face and neck for about 20 minutes regularly.

Cucumber effectively removes dark circles under the eyes. For this, use a mixture of equal quantities of cucumber juice and potato juice (about, 1 tablespoon each) and apply on the affected part. A couple of other ways for the same problem can be equally effective. You can apply grated cucumber either alone or in combination with carrot juice. Also, refrigerate grated cucumber mixed with milk for about 30 minutes and apply it on the under-eye skin. In all the cases, rest and relax for about 20 minutes before it is rinsed off using cool water. The easiest and the most effective way to get rid of puffy eyes consists of taking two sliced rounds of cucumber and placing them on the eyes. Relax and you will see the difference within 20 minutes. Your face will look significantly improved.

Facial masks

Facial masks using cucumber transform the skin, leaving a radiant and blemish-free face. Take the following: ½ cup cucumber, ½ cup avocado (both chopped coarsely), 1 egg white and 2 teaspoons powdered milk. Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes or so and apply it to your face. After about 30 minutes, rinse off with warm water first and then with cool water. Another mask consists of one half of cucumber, one tablespoon of instant nonfat dry milk and one teaspoon plain yogurt. Apply this and leave for about 20 minutes. Then rinse off with cool water. Your face will look exceedingly nourished and fresh.

Cucumber juice and an equal quantity of rose water along with 70% alcohol is good for removing any blemishes or spots on the face and skin. You can drink cucumber juice for added effect. And if you drink cucumber juice mixed with carrot juice regularly, your hair grows better and looks better. The silicon and sulphur present in cucumber nourish the skin, hair and nails.

Manufacturers of the product will give their recommended dosage on the product and this will be clearly labelled, some say two capsules three times a day, while others say while others say that only one or two capsules are needed, this of course will depend on the strength of the hoodia contained within the product.

Recipes for everyday beauty products


We all like to look our best and it doesn’t have to cost us a fortune, there is no need to pay exorbitant prices for beauty products, in fact most of the everyday beauty products can be made at home quite easily and with little cost.

Shiny hair straight from the refrigerator

If you have problem hair then there is no need to pay out for salon prices for conditioner, simply take a jar of mayonnaise and work some through your hair from the roots down to the tips. When you have done this put a heated towel around your head to totally cover your hair and leave it for ten minutes. When you have done this just rinse the mayo off and shampoo it with your normal shampoo.

Homemade exfoliants

If you have sensitive skin then this can be treated with a homemade gentle skin exfoliation, take ½ a cup of cornmeal and mix this with a ¼ cup of milk. Add to this 2 teaspoons of baking soda and a tablespoon of olive oil and then apply this to your skin.

To make a simply face scrub to get rid of the dirt and grime of the day make a walnut scrub and gently cleanse your face with this before retiring for the night.

Facial masks don’t have to cost a fortune; there are many products around the home which can be used for a facial mask. Take a couple of carrots and put them in your food processor, mix this with a little honey and then apply to the skin and leave for ten minutes before rinsing off with cool water. An alternative to this is to use pure honey, first place a cloth in warm water; this will open up the pores. When you have done this simply smear the homey over your face and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water and following this with cold to close your pores.

Epsom salts

A great and very cheap beauty enhancing treatment is Epsom salts. For exfoliation simply take a cheap brand of cleansing cream and mix ½ a teaspoon of salts into it. If you want to give yourself a spa treatment then take a handful of Epsom salts and gently massage this into your skin after a shower.
Dark circles? No problem!

If you have dark circles under your eyes then these can be relieved by taking a potato and putting it into the food processor, when you have done this put it into a piece of cheesecloth, fold it and apply it under the eyes.

Wrinkle free

A great way to combat wrinkles is to use banana, mash up with a fork a ¼ of a banana and then apply this to the face, leaving this for about 20 minutes before finally washing it off and gently splashing cold water over the face before patting it dry.
No more aches

If your feet are aching and tired after being on them all day long then ease them by soaking your feet in a tub of warm water mixed with some Epsom salts. Leave your feet to soak for about 20 minutes then replace the Epsom salts with just warm water and give your feet a gentle wash.

How yoga and diet work together for a healthier you


Yoga is an excellent form of exercise which is suitable for people of all ages and which can be regarded as a way of life and a way in which to change your lifestyle for the better. While yoga works particularly well on its own when combined with a yogic diet it is one of the most successful ways to enjoy a healthier you.

When undertaken this way it is one of the most beneficial systems of total health care and allows us to nourish not only our body but also our mind that in turn allows us to remain in tip top shape and ready to face anything. While eating a proper diet means many things to different people when it comes to yogic eating there are a few essentials that you should know.

A yogic diet consists of the following foods, although it has to be said that eating the yogic way isn’t essentially a diet that has to be followed but rather teaching you to eat correctly and to change the bad habits that you have gotten into over the years. On a day-to-day basis the following foods should be eaten as routine and should always exists in your diet: Honey, nut, seeds, lentils, beans, cereals, whole grains, pasta, rice, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, milk, and yogurt.

These are the essentials which your diet shouldn’t be without, of course there are no very tight restrictions to what you can and cannot eat but the foods listed above should be included in your daily diet as matter of routine. The yogic way of eating is often likened to that of a vegetarian and you can’t be expected to change the habits of a lifetime and go with the more vegetarian way of the yogic diet. However you should try to minimize the amount of red meat that you do eat and instead eat more fresh green vegetables, however if there are certain foods which you absolutely love then by all means don’t deny these, just don’t have them everyday.

Whenever possible try to include as much protein in the form of nuts, whole grains and cheese along with plenty of salad products and raw vegetables. Vegetables should be eaten raw wherever possible when following the yogic way of eating. Fresh fruit is essential as this has a lot of the necessary vitamins that the body needs and of course you should try and limit if not give up totally the amount of junk food that you eat.

You should never eat more than you actually need to, overeating when following the yogic diet is frowned upon and considered bad for the body. Re-heating food is also considered a bad thing as this can destroy much of the nutrients and vitamins in food along with introducing germs.

Above all when moving onto the yogic way of eating, don’t expect miracles of yourself or set goals that you can’t possibly stick with, if you love red meat then don’t tell yourself you cant have it, by doing this you are setting yourself up for failure. Instead just have a little bit of what you fancy every now and again.

Is a vegan diet healthy?


Provided that the vegan diet is well planned out, then research does suggest that a well-balanced vegan diet can be a healthy diet and approach to getting all of your nutritional needs.
